Olfactory Moment

June 7

Olfactory- Of, relating to, or contributing to the sense of smell.
Moment- A specific point in time, especially the present time. OR. A particular period of importance, influence, or significance in a series of events or developments.

How significant are the moments in your life? Do you take the time to live in your moments? Do you just go about aimlessly, taking your senses for granted?

What is the Olfactory Moment? The Olfactory Moment is when you tell the readers what aroma or odor you smelled over the weekend. What memory did it recreate? Was it a scent that you may never forget, thus creating future memories of that past moment?

You can read past Olfactory Moments here.

Did you have an Olfactory Moment this weekend?

I did: This weekend I used a homemade hair rinse scented with delightful Dragonberry, on my daughter's hair. Wow! No matter which room in the house I was in, the fragrance of her hair would dance to my nose (still today). I truly believe that if I smell that scent (or anything remotely like it) in the future , I will remember the days of taking care of my daughter's
hair.

  1. Okay, don't deem me weird and block me from future comments, k? - LOL!!

Heading home from downtown last Friday, I was in the car alone and suddenly, the scent of my dad filled my car? The windows were open and I was on the highway, so it wasn't a nearby restaurant or anything! It just smelled like him when I was younger and living in Florida. It reminded me of martial arts lessons and my dad's boisterous laugh. It made me smile and as I matter of fact, I'm calling him tomorrow...

    I know, weird huh? :)

  2. Definitely not weird, Execumama. It is a beautiful thing when one's mind and heart is clear/opened and in a state of peace, to accept those moments. I often have those moments, and like you make an effort to call the person. Amazing how they needed to hear from you. It is almost as if their spirit was calling out.

Have a beautiful conversation with your dad.
