Olfactory Moment

September 13

Olfactory- Of, relating to, or contributing to the sense of smell.
Moment- A specific point in time, especially the present time. OR. A particular period of importance, influence, or significance in a series of events or developments.

How significant are the moments in your life? Do you take the time to live in your moments? Do you just go about aimlessly, taking your senses for granted?

What is the Olfactory Moment? The Olfactory Moment is when you tell the readers what aroma or odor you smelled over the weekend. What memory did it recreate? Was it a scent that you may never forget, thus creating future memories of that past moment?

You can read past Olfactory Moments here.

Did you have an Olfactory Moment this weekend?

  1. My OM did not come to me over the weekend. It came last night while submerged under comfy cotton, atop "clouds", and held by King T's protective-you're-not-going-nowheres arm. Yup, I was in bed. In bed asleep, when a familiar smell came through the window (it's cooler at nights now-I love the transitional season of autumn). The smell brought back a childhood memory;me in my mother's bed, on the third floor of our row house in Philly. The City. I smelled the city. Not anything funky smelling, but the mix of nature's aroma and only the scent that the "concrete jungle" can throw. Our home is nestled away, but not to far is one of the busiest thoroughfares. There's a lot of construction (widening the road) going on (working at night), and I could hear the movement of vehicles. It's possible that the audible sense triggered the olfactory nerve. Either way, that OM brought a smile to my face.

  2. Thanks for sharing and being such an inspiration! Peace & Blessings 2 U & Urs! None over the week end for me, but on yesterday I went outside to get away from the cold and the evening breeze mix with that change of weather smell hit me and remonded me of some boots I loved. I got the same smell in the parking lot of the mall before buying them!

Can't wait to shop with u again! 1Ness
