After The 8K Challenge.

Early this morning I participated in an 8K (in the woods). I did it! Everyone operates in a comfort zone below their level. So, I am glad that I challenged myself The course was rough, rough, rough, terrain. I jumped over tree roots, leaped over fallen trees, slid on wet leaves, was close to the edge of drop-offs, ran up steep hills. My weekly workouts of mountain biking, Perfect Push Ups, and strength training kicked in. I felt empowered! Funny, this was my first time doing something like this, but I am ready to go again....

After the 8K I came home and took a long nap. I then woke up to soak in a tub of warm water and Alaea Detoxifying Soak. I followed up by massaging Essentials Soothing Balm into those worked muscles. I feel relaxed and empowered...now I am going to go chill out.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Think on this: Are you operating in a comfort zone? What can you do to get out of it?

Chart New Courses

I received this write up in my inbox, courtesy of Ebonywoman.info. I often say these words in my head, and this write up is confirmation.

Chart New Courses
By Lance Winslow

Often entrepreneurs start a new business and start becoming successful at what they are doing. Much of their success is because they listen to their customers, and exploit small niches in the marketplace when they find that people are willing to pay them for something they had not considered, but they are very capable of doing in their businesses.

Still, as their success grows they define themselves by their industry sector niche and will join an industry association. Any industry association they join will have classes, seminars and trade journals that explain how to do things a certain way. The entrepreneur then discovers that they can become more efficient if they use the methods described by the industry Association.

Of course, at some point everyone in the industry is doing everything the same way and therefore it’s just like NASCAR where all the cars are basically the same speed, same technology, same tactics, and going around the track the same way, for the same number of laps. You cannot break away in such a situation.

That’s why I recommend that entrepreneurs chart a new course. That is not to say you should not study everything that your industry is doing, and all the best management practices and methods they utilize. You should, and you should know your industry and business model better than anyone else in the entire world in my professional and personal opinion.

However, if you really want to win in business you need to chart a new course and find and more efficient way to serve your clientele and find niches that they had not discovered yet because they were too busy trying to do everything just like everyone else. You must differentiate yourself and you must go for it. Please consider all this.
